Institute for Counselor Development
For counselor-interns who are working toward licensure, few people can be more influential than their certified clinical supervisor. The role of the supervisor is varied: coach, educator, motivator, advisor, and confidante. The Institute for Counselor Development provides the training required to meet the Texas supervision requirements for the LPC.
The Institute for Counselor Development (ICD) LPC Supervisor Training curriculum is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for professionals seeking qualification as an LPC Supervisor by the State of Texas. Participants will receive 40 CEU hours, including 12 hours of Ethics. Instruction includes lecture, small group work, videotaping supervision sessions and subsequent evaluation, role play, and practical applications of current research and techniques.
Title 22 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter §681.93 (a) All internships physically occurring in the State of Texas must be completed under the supervision of a board approved supervisor. The applicant for supervisor status must have held the regular license in good standing for at least 60 months from the date of issuance as of December 1, 2016.
